Platinum 950/1000 case, beaded crown set with a red cabochon-shaped ruby, carnelian red dial with Roman numerals, rhodium-finish polished steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Case back engraved with the inverted handwritten signature of Alberto Santos-Dumont. Semi-matte brown alligator leather strap, platinum 950/1000 ardillon buckle. Case dimensions: 43.5 mm x 31.4 mm, thickness: 7.3 mm. Water-resistant up to 3 bar (approx. 30 metres). Lacquered wooden box, palladium-finish motif and details, grey Alcantara®* interior, limited series of 200 individually numbered pieces. About the Collection

1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of his friend, the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. This was the birth of one of the first ever wristwatches. Featuring a geometric shape and exposed screws, the watch quickly became one of the Maison's watchmaking icons. The Santos rose to the ranks of a classic that would defy the hands of time.
