In the footsteps of the panther

Gentle, loyal, independent: actress Vanessa Kirby talks about her metamorphosis into a panther.

Cartier and the panther, destinies intertwined

The panther motif has been a hallmark of Cartier creations since 1914. Jeanne Toussaint, who became Creative Director in 1933, quickly developed a strong affinity with the panther. An eccentric, emancipated visionary, in 1948 she fleshed out the creature in three dimensions. Since then, the panther has been part of the Maison's history.

Savoir-faire in the service of life itself

With the panther, the idea is not to imitate nature, but to pay tribute to the animal and endow it with a personality. This is why, since 1914 and the first appearance of the panther, the Maison's craftsmen have been constantly exploring the art of bringing the feline to life.
