RESTORATION OF SIX WATCH MOVEMENTS FROM THE PALACE MUSEUM, BEIJING
In 2014, following a series of exchanges and visits between watchmakers from the Palace Museum and the Cartier Manufacture, six movements from timepieces in the Palace Museum's collection were selected for restoration by experts from the museum and the Manufacture. After three years of preparation, the six movements were transported to the Cartier Manufacture, where they were restored. They were returned to the Palace Museum in perfect working condition in June 2017. This ambitious, unique collaboration is today cited as a benchmark in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
