THE ART OF CARTIER (2004)

Shanghai, Shanghai Museum

The first Cartier Collection exhibition in China took place at the Shanghai City Museum, a striking example of circular architecture that pays tribute to valuable bronze collections. Curated and designed by the Chinese team at the museum, the exhibition juxtaposed contemporary high jewellery pieces contributed by private collectors, with Cartier Collection pieces. An entire room was devoted to design drawings from the designers’ atelier. Cartier was the first jeweller to present a panorama of its work to the Chinese public, especially the many Chinese-inspired pieces that feature in the Maison’s history.
